A - Pitch black pour, creamy/off-white colored lacing, lots of legs on the sides of the glass.
S - Chocolate, rum, cream, a little bit of oak.
T - Chocolate, cream, some rum, some lingering chocolate.
M - Lots of bubbles and air on the palate - too airy.
O - I feel like I need to scrape this beer off my tongue. I haven't been very excited about the Stoudt's barrel program so far, unfortunately.

On tap at brewery, also available in 750 mL bottles
$ 5.00/12 oz snifter ($ 0.417/oz)
Aroma – some roasted malt, molasses (?)
Head – removed by bartender. What remained was light brown and creamy, diminishing to a three mm ring and thin partial layer
Lacing – wide bands of tiny bubbles
Body dark brown/black, opaque
Flavor – begins with rum, some roasted malt comes through as it warms, some alcohol but not overpowering; no hops, no malt, no diacetyl
Palate – medium to full, creamy, lively carbonation
A middle ground between unadulterated Fat Dog and its mongrel cousin Fat Dog Whiskey Barrel Aged – not as good as the Fat Dog but head and shoulders above Whiskey Barrel
Appearance 4, Aroma 3.75, Flavor 3.75, Palate 3.5, Overall 3.5
