On tap at Stoudt's on 10/16/10.
A - Clear orangey amber liquid with a thin off-white head that reduced to a patchy film and thin strands of lacing. The head did flare back up with each swirl of the glass, though.
S - Not much of an initial aroma, unfortunately. Seemed pretty cold and numb at first. After allowing the liquid to warm up a bit, notes of spices began to emerge, starting with cinnamon and followed by nutmeg and a hint of vanilla. Not much else to report.
T - Initial flavor combines pumpkin pie spices with light floral hop notes and a lightly toasted grainy and biscuity malt character. Spices dominate the flavor until the finish, when the malt takes over. All of the requisite spices are present: cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, etc.
M - Light bodied with a hint of syrupy texture, although ultimately it's pretty thin and watery. Carbonation is moderate and provides a hint of bristle on the tongue. Finishes with a touch of bitterness and plenty of residual spiciness on the palate.
D - Nothing too exciting here. This is your average, middle-of-the-road pumpkin ale with a whole lot of spice and not much authentic roasted pumpkin flavor.

Had this beer at the brewpub served in a stemmed glass poured from a cask. The beer is slightly hazy gold hue with bleached white creamy head of 2 cm that fades to a thin surface layer, leaving tight lattice on the glass.
Aroma is mild and grainy with light caramel and minor spices notes.
First sip reveals a lite body and soft rolling carbonation. A very easy drinking beer with smooth texture that glides down my throat.
Flavor is light caramel and some husky grain with a bit of fruity pumpkin flesh and a little tang on the finish. Not really spicy here, no hops and the ABV is definitely hidden. A very easy to drink and enjoyable pumpkin beer.

Notes from the brewery: Pumpkinlicious - Oktoberfest beer with generous amounts of roasted pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg, added to the finishing tank.
On-tap at the Black Angus next to the brewery. The beer appeared clear orange with a short tan head. In the grand scheme of pumpkin beers, this beer falls into the tasty middle ground where the pumpkin and spices aren't too heavy (or light) and the body is medium strength and worthy of a few pints.
