Appearance: pours a straw to light golden hue. a two finger white head forms with weaker retention but leaving behind a small lacing. strong clarity and decent brightness.
Smell: fresh cut grass, some light citrus, white wine grapes. light noble hop character.
Taste: opens with some fresh cut grass that mixes with a nice light noble hop character including spicy to slightly herbal character. strong mineral content makes itself clear and blends into a white wine grape character near the end. citrus is sometimes apparent in the taste ranging from lemongrass to a weak lemon juice.
Mouthfeel: medium body. finishes moderately clean. some light bitterness is left behind. fairly crisp and a nice strong dryness. could use just a touch more carbonation to increase the refreshing qualities just a little bit.
Overall: a solid and good straight take on the kolsch. drinkable and refreshing but a strong complexity to it. all the flavors fit straight into the style guidelines yet it is hardly a cookie cutter to others I have had. Wish I could get this without having to go to the brewery. A good first look at Seven Arrows. They got my eye on them now, especially when looking for German styled beers.
