I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a twelve sample flight. It poured a clear amber with thin white ring head that is is not leaving much lace. The scent had caramel and earth malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt base with peat and subtle bittering hop presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Pours a clear, maize color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, yeast, slight caramel malt, hint of alcohol, and a hint of nut. Fits the style of a Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong sweet malt, hint of syrup, slight alcohol, pale malt, slight yeast, and slight roasted malt. Overall, good appearance and feel, and the aroma and body are dominated by strong malt attributes.
