Formerly called Akumal Pale Ale
Our first turtle, was born in late 2012.
Fresh, golden color, crafted with German and American hops, rounded out with a blend of German malts creating an unique beer which is extremely drinkable like a lager yet complex the way a craft beer should be.

Thanks to JLindros for hooking me up with a can of this after his trip to Mexico.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice slightly hazy golden hue with a nice one finger white head that fades slowly to leave a thin blanket. Light lacing as well.
S - Aromas of fruity, floral hops. Slightly grassy with just a little bit on honey sweetness and malt to balance things out. The hops get a touch more floral as it warms.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with more of those fruity, floral hops. Almost bubblegum like characteristics as well. Touch of malt sweetness and lingering generic bitterness on the finish that has a grapefruit rind level of bitter aspect. As it warms it gets just a touch cardboard like but the hops keep that in check.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, crisp, clean, slightly fluffy on the finish. Light body.
O - Overall this was quite the impressive beer considering where it is from and access to ingredients. Nice hop profile, bright, not overly malty. Better than a big chunk of APAs available in the US! I'm impressed!

Best before 06/20, can picked up at the brewery
Pours a med foamy frothy 1 finger head nice retention and lacing, semi hazy semi clear pale golden color
Nose light grainy sweet malt, touch of cracker, fair hops nice citrus, touch of stone fruit, and faint zesty citrus and maybe even a touch of melon
Taste brings juicy hops out front, citrus, orange zest, little lemon lime, touch of grapefruit as well, light melon like honeydew melon, and touch of stone fruit, light grainy sweet malt and cracker again, soft and juicy, med light bitterness up front with crisp hop bite on the finish
Mouth is med bod, med-high carb but nicely done, a bit soft and juicy
Overall very well done, especially for a brewery in Mexico. I loved hanging out at the brewery for a bit and taking with brewer, he was very passionate and knowledgeable, and it shows in his beer. I tried the saison while there as it was very good, so I hope to get more of it at some point
