part of the collaboration four pack, this one with ausable, a hazy rye ipa, real tasty, maybe my second favorite from the pack, a little maltier than the others in more ways than one. its got a rust orange color to it, a little sediment in the bottom of the can, a high airy white head with good retention, and appears to be one of the more refined of the four beers. the rye is obvious in the nose and the flavor, spicy against some sweeter crystal malt, earthy and grounding, and a nice foundation for these hops, which have some spiciness of their own it seems, a little bitter citrus, and some spruce herbaceous character too, all very fresh. i get sliced oranges, mowed lawn, and floral honey in here too, the rye is there both in the front and in the back, drying but fuller, i couldnt drink a half dozen of these, but i enjoyed this in small dose. i hate when a rye beer doesnt bring the rye to the fore, so i am pleased with this being as bold as it is there, and the hops are really compatible. solid brew, very autumnal to me, hefty but for a reason, well done.
