Pours a brilliant amber with a lingering frothy tan head.
Toasted malt and light phenols are subtle in the aroma. There's a hint of floral hops and light roast. Wheat and light specialty malt fruitiness emerge.
Flavor reveals fruity yeast esters, which fade to bitter, resiny hops. Hop flavoring is almost perfumey. There's a medicinal undercurrent. Subtle what surfaces in the aftertaste. Toasted, almost roasted malt character is dominated by hop bitterness.
Body is fairly full, with moderate carbonation and a harsh astringency at the finish. Alcohol warmth is noticeable.
Too bitter for my liking. Wheat presence is minimal. Not much character, really. The phenols and esters are overpowering.
