Inspired by the droves of “Urban Nomads” commonly found bumming cigarettes outside of the JCTCS student center drinking various malt liquors. This high octane ale is brewed with a generous amount of ‘Mercian grown corn and a whole lot of pilsner malt. Clean and bright yellow in appearance, and single hopped with Czech Celesia hops for a slightly fruity taste and mellow bitter. Enjoy, and sorry we don’t have any change.

Being a fan of stronger brews like this I was really excited to see this on the seasonal tap list.
Very clear golden color with a fleeting head that gives way to a fair amount of lacing. Although there is certainly a fair amount of corn, the smell and taste are well balanced by both malt and the hops. Unlike cheap malt liquor, the sweetness is complimented by the bitterness of the hops. The mouth feel is clean and the carbonation level good.
I took home a growler and the carbonation held for a couple days. A note of warning - the flavors completely mask the higher alcohol content - this is not a session beer.
If malt liquor was made with this level of skill it certainly wouldn't have the reputation it does. I would recommend this to anyone who has an appreciation for stronger lagers.
