Pale gold, and as many of BBC's bottled brews are, overcarbonated. Watch for a massive never-ending head of foam. Pour with caution.

Malty nose -- bread, soap. Not much there.

Taste is also overmalted, even syrupy. A little hint of bitterness at the finish can't save this very average beer. Hints at even being a little skunky, though my bottle was produced only 2 months ago.

Messy, and very forgettable.

A pleasant-enough beer, although the flavor profile is on the shallow side. Slightly hazy gold color. A bit of grain in the aroma. Some moderate tartness at the front, with cerial and grain notes following in modest progression. Sufficient hops bittering at the end, with a bit of astringency. Not bad as a quaffer, but nothing to linger over.

12oz bottle in pint glass

A: Pale straw color with a thin white head
S: slightly grainy with no obvious hops
T&M: again, slightly grainy with no obvious hops. Highly carbed and well attenuated.
D: This is ok for what it is, but nothing wonderful. If you like BMC, you will like this (that is not a complement). I was expecting an Amber ale from the name (don't know why) and was hoping this would stand up to their IPA (which was excellent). Would not buy again

After trying the Sheltowee Hop-a-Lot, I had some incouragement going into this one. The beer turns out somewhat flawed in comparison. As typical Blonde Ales do, the grain-to-malt ratio makes the beer questionable, however the supporting hops (English?) give the beer a slight grassy, pine-ey, and much needed crispness. A big whif of dms (cream corn) comes leaping out of the glass early, but seem to disipate as the I continued to drink. However, the sweet corn flavor never subsided, leaving a moderate hop rate, as the only posative attributes to the beer. Finishes with a grassy bitterness, and that distracting corn flavor.
