Served on draft in an imperial pint glass.

A- Pours a deep copper brown color with a thick off white foam head that left a bit of lace.

S- Dark fruit, brown sugar, and roasted malt made up the nose.

T- Lots of fruit flavors upfront with dark cherries, plums, figs, and raisins shining through. A nice caramel sweetness helps to balance the boozy finish.

M- Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Nice carbonation.

D- Overall a very solid brew with a very different flavor.

This is very good ale. British in its taste, with english hops and bitterness present, except darker, stronger, and well....older tasting. I found it to be fantastic and easy to drink (too easy) despite its high ABV. BBC really shows their brewing skill with this beer.

This was my first "Old Ale" tasting, so I too am unfamiliar with how it corresponds to the category.

A new offering from Bluegrass Brewing Co. Served in a half pint glass due to its high ABV. Dark brown with a light brown 1" head. Strong malt presence in the aroma with a hint of a fruity smell. The taste followed suit with mainly a strong roasted malt flavor, little hop presence but again just a hint of a fruit flavor. The brew goes down very easy but for me its high ABV makes it a one at a time beer.

Having never had an "Old" ale before I really cant say as to how close the BBC comes to the standard. I can just say I really liked this beer and will return soon for another
