A: Pours a dark mahogany with amber highlights and a creamy, thick khaki head that leaves a surprising amount of lacing once it settles and recedes.
S: Aromas of cream, brown butter, caramel, toffee, leather, dark chocolate, molasses, tobacco, and dark bread are present on the nose.
T: Mild, mellow notes of tobacco, leather, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, molasses, brown butter, fresh cream, and dark bread are underscored by traces of pepper and fresh herbs. The finish is mild and smooth with notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, cream, and leather particularly pronounced.
M: Relatively light in body and smooth, but also somewhat dry. Carbonation is fine, gentle, and delicate, but not underpowered. Very easy to drink.
O: A really nice, sessionable English-style ale and definitely one of the better offerings from Bluegrass Brewing Company (BBC). It has a ton of flavor for a low-strength ale and is very balanced to boot. Definitely worth trying if and when it is offered.
