Bottle acquired during a recent trip to St-Petersburg.
OG : 27%, 30 IBU, 13.0% ABV, 11 months in american oak.
A: pours dark, almost black, with mahogany glints. Small head which leaves a decent collar and lacings on the glass. Seems quite sweet, carbonated and not heavy in body.
S: Smell is of harsh alcohol, very boozy. Notes of hazelnut, grain, liquorice. Fudge / chocolate develops as the beer warms. No bourbon whatsoever, except from the booze.
T: Tastes follows, with a lot of booze and some chocolate afterwards. Not much flavor other than that to support the strong alcohol feel. Bitter finish but sweet aftertaste.
M: Light bodied despite the heavy OG advertised on the bottle but at least with a good carbonation. I guess most sugar has transformed into alcohol at this point. Very warming and actually difficult to drink.
O: Not really enjoyable and very disappointing. I'm not sure I'm gonna finish this.
