Jester King collaboration. On-draught @ Red Horn.
It's a somewhat muted Baltic Porter but the lingering grape must on the finish is a nice subtle touch.
Drinkable and enjoyable, but I'd sooner buy Sinebrychoff.

my very first beer from these guys is a baltic porter with mourvedre grape juice in it, done in collaboration with jester king. we had their version side by side with this one, and all in our party liked this one better! where the jester king version uses their now famous funky culture to ferment it, this one uses a more common yeast for the style, and the beer is clean. i think without as influential of a fermentation profile the nuances of the grapes with the dark grains can be appreciated more, no acidity here at all, and only the light tang of the grapes and the density of the malt makes these two beers similar at all. this one looks a shade darker and much clearer too. the aroma is light smoke, black coffee, and the slightly jammy grapes that also have a floral element to them, oddly delicate in a big strong porter. the roast on this is nice, and it provides some just short of burnt bitterness to balance the sweetness thats still here from the fruit. i havent had a lot of dark beers with grapes in them, but this makes great sense, the work together in a cool way, and i found this to be very unique. dark chocolate, rich red wine, a softer like cranberry type fruitiness too, and a lot of body from all the malt. delicious porter, a unique twist to the style. better than the jester king edition in my opinion!
