Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazed yellow-orange color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades slowly over time leaving a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of tropical fruits and some orange and light doughy grain. Along with these smells comes notes of a herbal and grapefruit hop as well as some notes of earth.
Taste – The taste begins with sweeter tropical fruit taste mixed with some bready malt tastes. Upfront there is a decent showing of grapefruit hop, which as the taste advances, grows slightly less intense. All the while some flavors of lemongrass and an herbal hop develop, along with a bit of wheat and grain. Toward the end a bit of pine hop flavor joins the flavor, leaving one with a somewhat fruity, but easy drinking and moderately hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is slightly thicker and chewier with a carbonation level that is low. For the style and the tastes the feel is decent and makes for an easy sipper.
Overall – A rather decent hazy IPA. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a good drinker none the less.
