Served on tap in a snifter glass
Appearance – The beer is served a hazed darker orange color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is rather strong of a tropical fruit smell with a good showing of pineapple, tangerine and mango. Along with these smells comes notes of grapefruit and herbal hop as well as some other sweeter aromas of a caramel and light melon smell. Rounding it all out is a touch of a bready and doughy smell as well as a hint of lemon citrus.
Taste – The taste starts out with a brady flavor mixed with the tropical fruits and the grapefruit that was in the nose. As the taste advances further the grapefruit picks up a bit and is joined by herbal and a very light pine hop. Toward the end the tropical fruit fades a touch, but is replaced by some light orange and harvest fruit flavors, leaving one with a rather nice and smooth hop taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – the body of the brew is thicker and slightly more chewy for a 6.0 % brew with a carbonation level that is lower. Overall the feel is good for the mix of tropical and moderately hopped tastes of the beer.
Overall - A rather easy drinking and flavorful hazy that is not overly sweet. A fun one to try.
