Served on tap in a snifter
Appearance – The beer is poured a very hazy blueish-purple color with a tiny fizzy off-white head. The head fades almost instantly, leaving some very light lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a blueberry and green apple smell mixed with aromas of hay, must and funk. Along with these smells comes a little bit of lemon and lime and a touch of raspberry.
Taste – The taste begins with a dry and sour blueberry flavor mixed with a decent showing of sour raspberry and green apple. At the same time there are flavors of mustiness and some herb that are present as well as a little bit of a yeasty and funky tastes. As the taste advances some of the light blueberry and raspberry sweetness that was present upfront largely fades and with a decent showing of lemon and lime citrus at the end, one is left with a musty and citrus sour dry blueberry taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body if medium in thickness and creaminess with a rather low carbonation.
Overall – A decent berry fruited sour. Nothing to necessarily pine after, but fun to try none the less.
