A 330ml bottle with a BB of May 2017. ABV is stated as 5.3%. Acquired a little while back from a webshop. The label calls it 'lager with a bang'.
A: Poured into a tulip. A rich golden-amber colour with faint haze and light carbonation. Forms a decent head of frothy white foam that disappears after a minute or so.
S: Aroma of grainy malt with notes of noble hops, grass/hay, floral hints, faint spice, earthy yeast and husks. A twinge of apples in the background. Perhaps a tad under-attenuated for the style? Pretty good.
T: Tastes of grassy noble hops and grain with hints of hay, mild floral notes, pale malt, earthy yeast and husks. A touch of sweetness. An understated, leafy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and dry, with very soft carbonation. Full-bodied for the style. Aftertaste of grassy, spicy hop bitterness and earthy yeast.
O: A tasty brew that could be tweaked a bit. Average looks - lack of head and carbonation take away from the appearance. The aroma and flavour are pleasant enough; a good dose of hops and dry yeast. Could be drier for a lager. Body is OK but livelier carbonation would add texture. That said, a decent effort that is worth sampling if you come across it.
