Served on nitro at the brewery itself, on to the beer:
Spots of lace cling around the glass of this black colored beer. Retention is acceptable, though for nitro it falls earlier. The aroma is very light, a few roasted malt notes and not much else. While the flavor is light, it does bring a pleasant base of roasted malt, a vague sweetness, and a toastiness. Lighter medium bodied and quite smooth in the mouth, AleSmith's dry stout would be a good pick for St. Patrick's Day, which is unfortunately more than four months away.
