750 ml bottle, poured into a goblet
Appearance: Pours a beautiful, clear, deep, dark, mahogany color, with a quarter of a finger of white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into a thin lacing of foam that partially covered the top of the beer.
Aroma: Delicious and inviting! Strong aromas of bready, earthy, rich, toasted malt, imparting notes of freshly baked bread, as well as strong aromas of candied sugar, dried stone fruit such as figs, dates, apricots, raisins and prunes. There are also strong aromas of spices such as clove, all-spice, black pepper, and a hint of cinnamon. Absolutely delicious!
Taste: Equally as delicious as the aroma! Strong flavors of bready, earthy, rich, toasted malt, up front, followed by strong flavors of candied sugar, dried stone fruit such as figs, dates, apricots, raisins and prunes. There are also strong flavors of the aforementioned spices such as clove, all-spice, black pepper, and a hint of cinnamon.
Mouthfeel: Slightly chewy and extremely smooth as there is very little in the way of carbonation, like almost none. With an ABV of 12%, this is a very dangerous beer in that there is no alcohol on the palate, it’s so completely and incredibly well masked.
Overall: Words like spectacular, awesome, brilliant, phenomenal, incredible, all work very well to describe this beer! It’s utterly delicious and outstanding! Truly a World-Class beer! Highly, highly recommended!
