Its like I told the beertender when I had this yesterday at the Alesmith tasting room: Whenever you see the word "velvet" on the menu, you just order it.
Smooth, warming, rich, coffee-infused barrel-aged deliciousness. This is a stellar beer and if you ever have the good fortune to come across it, heed my advice: dont think just order. You'll be glad.

Drinking on site, head to head with BAVSS '14 '16 and BASS '16. This is a very close second to the '14 BAVSS, but significantly smoother than both '16 BAs. If you can find it, buy it. So freaking good!

5 oz pour at the Urge 6th Anniversary. Ended up being my favorite beer of the day. Smooth rich chocolate and coffee with just a hint of vanilla as it warmed up. Smooth and luxurious, probably enjoyed this more than Velvet on draft last year....
