The Speedway Grand Prix is always a fun event but one of the cool parts about it is although you have to buy each "lap," Alesmith always has a handful of lap-worthy Speedway variants on the regular menu that arent part of the established laps but very well could be and are equally as limited. Miel is one such variant.
This is a take on the Spanish drink that sees coffee mixed with honey. This isnt a big, loud, boasting Speedway. Its more of a slow burn. I didnt taste anything different from normal Speedway on the first couple sips but after letting it sit and warm a little, the beer opened up and you could taste a slightly more pronounce coffee profile nuanced by the lingering sweetness of the honey. While this may not be the in-your-face type of dessert beer that most people expect at the Gran Prix, this proved to be a great under the radar sipper that i'd gladly enjoy again.
