Imperial stout with coffee, cinnamon, Mexican cocoa, vanilla, Arbol chilis, and salt, aged in Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels. Pitch black with an intense character of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, oak, and bourbon, with a blend of flavors from unique Mexican ingredients, including barrel-aged Mexican Chiapas coffee in collaboration with Mostra Coffee. Shared by a friend, so no idea how old the bottle was. Typical speedway jet black body but with some brown speckling with the full head. Smell has the coffee and dark chocolate with hints of caramel meet adjunct city: vanilla, cinnamon, chili peppers, in that order of intensity, all backed by bourbon barrel and gentle dark oak. Taste has the cocoa and dark chocolate distinguish beautifully, barrel is actually quite strong, adjuncts and malt base bond well though the peppers are faint. Feel is creamy, moderately thick, drier body, but not too heavy, adjuncts, especially cinnamon, bring texture variety, barrel looms large.

Glossy black with a tan muffin top head dying to a slick surface with a thin chain.
This delivers way more barrel than I expected, and it lays over everything, even the chile. The chile is spicy and amplified slightly by the barrel heat, which itself brings on wonderful char and mocha qualities right from the jump, while adding barrel vanillin to the nose.
After the swallow, the lingering chile heat builds over time, but in the middle, delectable chocolate and smooth dark malts are only faintly accented by a light spice that's likely the cinnamon
The viscosity of the full body is cut by the duo of heat in concert with a fine carbonation before finishing semi-dry and lightly sticky on the lips.

It's Speedway. You know what it looks like. You also know what it smells like too, for the most part. Light coconut to go with a nice, really rich coffee note, fruity, berry rich notes, more dried raspberry and strawberry like than dried blueberry that I get in other coffee stouts. Toasted coconut, lightly fruity and fragrant. Rich, robust roasty notes. Awesome. The palate opens rich , creamy ,roasty, with really lovely balance and flavor. Toasted coconut, fragrant coffee, super flavorful, dark chocolate. The coconut doesn't add a lot of flavor, but the contribution to the mouthfeel is immediately noticeable. Full, creamy, lightly oily, rich. Lovely, fruity, creamy mouthfeel. Long, lingering finish with lots of chocolate and coffee but also some oily coconut. Truly impressive.

750 bottle poured into a tulip.
Pitch black, small light brown head with a bit of fiz and a bit of froth, which mostly diminishes.
Nose is mostra coffee, with subtle chili, chocolate and oak
Taste the chili is prominant, but not overwhelming, with balancing chocolate, coffee, vanilla, oak and cherry.
Medium body with a light creamy feel. The chili lingers in the finish.
This comes accross as a mole beer and a good one, provided you like some chili heat in a beer. While the chili is prominant, Alesmith finds the right balance so the other flavors come through, creating a well executed complex beer.
