Complex with a rich sweet malty presence, significant esters and alcohol. The malt is rich and strong, and can have a deep bready-toasty quality with a deep caramel complexity. The fruity esters contain raisin, plum, dried cherry, fig or prune notes. Alcohols are soft, spicy, perfumy, and are low in intensity.

2021 vintage.
I had this on draft 3/12/24 @ the Hopleaf.
Murky brown/orange appearance.
No head; no lace.
Leather, raisin & plum notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Tart plum & cinnamon flavors up front; leather & raisin notes on the finish.
A bit too tart on the palate, but interesting. I wonder if it was better fresh...

750ml poured into a teku glass. 50F serving temp.
Dark blackish purple, fizzy head which fully disipates.
Nose and flavor is mostly oak and red wine.
Feel is light oil and syrup.
overall I do like the blend of oak and red wine. The feel does enhance that. But the quad base gets completely lost. Even BA calling this a belgain strong ale feels misleading. It basically a barrel beer.If you think you are opening a quad, you will be disapointed. If you are looking barrels, you will enjoy it more.
