In a variety 4-pack from Jungle Jim's
did not work for me. The Blackberry and coffee does not go together well.

Dark pour, nice frothy head. Fruity/nutty aroma. The blackberries are a dominant flavor. I don’t know why I keep buy all these variants when the regular Speedway is always better (I guess because I live Speedway that much!). The blackberry doesn’t enhance this at all.

16oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours black in color with a one-finger creamy khaki head that reduces to a thin film
S- classic Speedway aroma with bold charred roasted malt, chocolate, black licorice, molasses and a bold hit of earthy coffee. As it warms, jammy blackberry aromas start to emerge, giving more of a baked blackberry note rather than a tart fresh aroma. A hint of creamy vanilla closes it out
T- the blackberry is tart in flavor, immediately noticed. Mid-palate brings out bold roasted and charred malt, herbal and earthy coffee, molasses and dark chocolate. The finish gives more blackberry, that turns jammy, adding some underlying vanilla. Lingers of charred malt and blackberry
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that turns silky into a velvety, warming finish

Purchased at Bound Beverage, Warrington, PA. Part of a 4pk of different stouts, 16oz can
Pours a jet black color. Totally opaque. A thin skim of a head that fades to a ring around the edges.
Not much on the nose, maybe some sweet coffee.
A tasty stout that has the flavors of sweet dark chocolate, coffee, caramel , roasted malts and a distinct, sour tangy bite from the addition of the blackberries. The ABV is noticeable but doesn’t overpower the flavors. Definitely a sipper.
Heavier, smooth consistency with low carbonation.
A nice way to end my tasting of the four varieties offered in the Alesmith Speedway Grand Prix variety 4pk. Probably my second favorite behind the Dutch apple pie version. All four of the brews were well done….cheers!

Bought a variety 4 pac. Saved this one for last because, rightly so, predicting it would be my least favorite. Look and smell was ok. Taste leans to much toward a sour ale than a stout i.e. tart/sour. Blueberries are overpowering. Coffee adds bitterness. I will finish this one but glad to not have to down another.

16 ounce can, dating is smudged but looks like it says canned on 10/13/2025. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, blackberries, coffee, vanilla and some breadiness. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also a hint of earthiness too. The blackberry flavor stands out here along with the coffee to a lesser extent, but without overpowering the others. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit coating and rich with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, but it just seems to be missing a little compared to most other Speedway Stout variants I've had before. Might just be something with this Grand Prix MMXXV series in general, I have 2 more to try so hoping they'll be better. This one is worth picking up though, more so if you like blackberries!

Canned 2025/10/13
Pours a frothy 1/2 finger brownish head with moderate retention, messy lacing, some legs, jet black color
Nose starts with some of the base stout, roasted malts and cocoa, coffee, baking spices, vanilla, a hint of blackberry in the background
Taste starts with a lot of sweet blackberry pie filling, sweet fruity jam, then some base stout, roasted malts, cocoa, as well as mild roasted coffee, bitter coffee, vanilla spice, bitter roast and mild spicy hop, a touch acrid, boozy alcohol, semi sweet finish, more bitter roast
Mouth is fuller bod, rich chewy, med to higher frothy carb, fair warming tingly alcohol
Overall not bad, the base beer comes through a bit, sweet but not too sweet, jammy blackberry fruit comes through a lot although that was what they were going for I'm sure, the bitterness clashes a bit especially on the finish

The pour is stout black with a beige colored head that leaves sparse lacing.
The taste, for me, is dark coffee with blackberry syrup, a lot of blackberry syrup.
I’m sure there is a stout in there but it eluded me.
The feel is lightly viscous, nicely appropriate for the style.
OA, I had thought the brewmasters at Alesmith were very deft with their additives, this one flies in the face of that opinion.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a two finger milk chocolate head that lasts for few minutes, but ultimately dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, blackberry, light coffee and cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt, under-ripe blackberries, coffee and mild cocoa; blackberry forward. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. This does deliver what it promises; a coffee stout with blackberry. I'm not getting much pie; the blackberry component is slightly tart, unlike ripe blackberries. It still has a nice, authentic blackberry character, just not the sweet pie ones I imagined. As often happens with fruit in stouts, the berries dominate the other flavors; Speedway malt is robust enough to handle it, but the coffee and usual chocolate notes are largely buried. I'm often not a fan of fruit in stouts and this one is not my favorite Speedway variant, although it is rich and enjoyable for what it promised.
