Pours clear, deep red. Lightly khaki head. Fades into a Thin ring. Nose is roasted caramel malts. Palate follows. Toasted malt, caramel, toffee, very light citrus fruit on the finish. Carbonation is a bit low. Good beer.

The publicity for this new brewery emphasizes the influences imparted by the two brewmasters, one English and one German. So far, the English seems to be shining through. This classic amber ale certainly illustrates that, with a very balanced palate. Clean, refreshing, and maybe a little reminiscent of a good ESB.

Growler from Premium Draught in Houston.
A: Pours a dark brick red color. A dense, and rocky two finger beige head forms with excellent retention and rings of sticky lace all the way down the glass.
S: Malts up front for a substantial sweetness, and some other fruitiness I can't exactly put my finger on, then grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Simple and enjoyable.
T: Again just a simple sweetness up front. Toasted and caramel malts, a touch of stone fruits is more apparent than in the nose. As this warms, more nuances come out. A nuttiness, even light chocolate flavors, and lingering grapefruit bitterness that is not over barring. Well balanced and enjoyable.
M/D: A medium body with crisp carbonation. Smooth at the same time. I do get a touch of chalkiness, but very light here. Enjoyable to drink, this is will be a good standby at the brewery or around the Heights area.
I very much enjoyed this, more nuances keep coming out as I take more in. Reminds me a little of North Coast Red Seal. That old school, classic "American Red Ale." I am sure to be drinking more of this in my neighborhood.

On tap at the brewery, 8/12/15. The color of this one was quite lovely. It looks like an amber and it is an amber. Great head as well. The body suffers a little from the chalkiness that seemed to plague all the beers available at the brewer. Thankfully, that's the only major detriment. This is a pretty reasonable amber and serves as a good neighborhood mainstay.
