From fresh bottle just arrived in luggage. Best looking Pale Ale i've seen in a long time. Smell is very much sweet and Honey like. Taste is the same sweet honey. Overall a very good crushable beer!

300 ml bottle that says it is 41 IBU, 5.3% alcohol, and has a printed date that is 10 months in the future. Looks very pale and a bit fizzy, has a faint and indistinct smell of caramel malts, and tastes somewhat bitter and of sweet malts and fairly nondescript. Mouthfeel light to medium body but there is a tad creaminess. Overall, meh.

It pours a nice amber body with a white head, but without good retention.
The bouquet brings a caramel sweet scent not too special, but fine anyway.
This beer have a nice mouthfeel with good carbonation and medium body. Good drinkability with a nice bitterness that is unexpected within the style, With a soft caramel malt combined with its citrus bitterness hops makes a good session beer and considering its pricetag here in Brazil it is a good option to be your "main" beer as it is much better than the average AAL out there and its pricetag is close of most AAL although a little expensive.
I've been drinking 838 Pale Ale for sometime now and I still find amazing that such a good beer is brought by Ambev and with a reasonable price.

I'm trying the 838 Pale Ale at the restaurant Nomangue in Copa Rio. It poured a clear copper with thin white head that is not leaving any lace . The scent had hints of pine and bitter citrus. The taste was bitter through but not indrinkaable. There was some bitter citrus and pine like flare. The Mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent bitter pale ale.

Amber color with a somewhat fluffy head with short retention.
Aroma with notes of mild caramel malt, some citrusy and a bit of piney hops.
Flavor with notes of caramel malt, slightly toasted, herbal hops, tea leaves and some citrusy towards grapefruit. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Bordering medium body with appropriate carbonation.
The aroma did not give me much hope about this beer, but the flavor was pretty decent. Assertively plain, but well balanced and packed with proper amount of hops. English Pale Ale within style and good bang for your buck.
