Poured into a pilsner glass. Pours a very hazy, golden straw with a half finger white head that dissipates to patches with good lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops, lemon, grapefruit, guava and pear. Flavor is biscuit and pale malt, lemon, lime, grapefruit, mango and light pine, finishes with citrus rind bitterness and hints of mixed tropical fruit. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This is not a traditional pilsner, but is definitely a flavorful and worthy one. The base malt is a little lighter than a classic pilsner biscuity malt, but has enough to be recognizable. The hops are exactly as advertised, instead of grassy continental hops, this pilsner is big with lemon family citrus and light tropical fruit notes. It was a little disconcerting at first as for this style, but the hop mixture is very nicely selected and really kept me sipping to parse out the flavors. One of the first Southern Hemisphere hopped ales I've really liked. The fresh lemon aftertasted is quite appealing. Nicely done.
