16oz bottle (purchased in late 2022) into a tulip. Pours an almost completely flat, murky mahogany color.
Aroma is fruity and sweet—brown sugar, molasses, dark cherries. Intriguing but not necessarily enticing.
Taste follows nose. Heavy on the sugars with holiday spice. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice. Bready dark malt. Hint of sour cherries. Not all that well blended.
Mouthfeel is heavy and sticky. Lack of carbonation only exacerbates these qualities. Borderline syrupy.
Overall I’m sorry to say that this beer was a disappointment. Poorly executed, unattenuated, little better than unfermented wort. Some beers should not be released.
