A: This is a coppery IPA, bright and clear. The thick head rests solidly on top and lacing clings stickily to the glass.
S: Black Cloister hits a delicate balance with this one: at 92 IBUs, it takes work to keep it from being undrinkable without losing the hoppy punch. This one has lots of classic American citrus and pine notes but with lots of malts that work hard but let the hops rule.
T: The same applies for the flavor, citrus and pine evened out by a biscuity malts and a certain nuttiness.
F: Medium-bodied and refreshing, this one leans on the dry side, as expected, and is plenty crisp and smooth all the way.
In a world filled with IPAs, this one is worth trying and a good go-to.

Pours golden to amber in color. It's aroma is of hops but they seem fairly well balanced out by a sweeter, maltier backbone. Well balanced. Perfect body and carbonation. Finishes with a pleasant citrus flavor.

On draft at brewery. Menu notes that this now considered a Double IPA, at 8.1 % ABV.
Clear dark golden, not much head. nice aggressive hop aroma and taste. Moderately bitter. Thin to medium body, medium carbonation. but sticky mouthfeel.
