Hildegard of Bilgen was a Benedictine Abbess and noted herbalist. Her writings in 1150 AD include the earliest mention of using hops in beer. This Berliner Weisse pays tribute to this visionary. Slightly tart and very refreshing this

Having this beer on-tap at the Craft Collective. Served in a tulip style glass, this beer drawsa fairly cloudy/hazy medium red color with a thick white ring lining the inside of the glass when first drawn and served that settles to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass. Not really any lacing here though. Aromas of some bready malts, wheat and certainly blackberry notes. A very similar flavor profile, with bready malts and wheat along with the blackberry notes that add the perfect amount of sweetness and slightly sour tartness. A very nice take on this style. Has a pretty crisp, yet also smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with fairly heavy carbonation. Has a slightly dry finish. A very nice beer all around here.
