Look: A thick dark brown with a small beige head that retains istelf well, dropping a ring where it settles and patching on the glass
Aroma: lots of roast in the dark malts, some dark cocoa, vanilla, caramel, and earthiness with a little bit of a vegetal note from the peppers that complements nicely.
Flavor: Follows the nose, very rich and roasty with an underlying sweetness and spiciness at an ideal level as it slowly builds, nipping raather than burning and providing a nice heat into the finish.
Feel: The body is full, nice and rich with a moderate carbonation and very smooth. The heat builds very nicely in the feels as well. Extremely smooth initially with an underlying dryness.

Looks dark brown like a typical stout
Smells of dark fruits
Taste is rather complex. I get sweetness of the malt pretty strongly, but the chipotle is what keeps it in check. I love sweet and spicy. I'm getting some vanilla and maybe some nutmeg or cinnamon. But those peppers really blast the aftertaste into beautiful territory. Spiciness lingers.
Mouthfeel is thick and sweet and a lot of carbonation makes the beer really lively.
Overall I'm impressed with this delicious beer and I'll drink it again!

Pours black in color with a light brown hued head on top. Thick and slick looking. This beer is full of sweet, sticky, dark malts. Very sweet in flavor with mild roasted notes (for a stout this dense). It's high abv is nicely hidden somewhere in the sticky sweetness of this beer. There are subtle notes of chipotle peppers and possibly nutmeg or cinnamon lurking in the background, however they clearly remain in the background. This is the kind of stout where if you get a little on your hand or fingers, they'll stick right together. It's big and chewy. The mouthfeel is full-bodied and then some.
It was the first brew I have tried from Black Cloister, and I'm looking forward to checking out more of their stuff.
