easons change. Warm summer days eventually give way to whipping winds that freeze lakes and bones alike. But as time passes, some things endure change in beautiful ways. We’ve taken our Esmé french-style saison with its bright citrus notes and aged it for more than a year in Napa Valley red wine barrels to expose an ale that reminds us that time yields strength.
Double strength version of our Farmhouse Ale. Aged and fermented for 6 months in wine barrels from Napa, CA.

Aged in Cabernet barrels. Sampled at tap room, ended up with a growler.
Pours a honey blush with a tall soapy head with tons of lace. Alcohol legs as well.
Aromas of cabernet barrel, fresh fruits, papaya, melon, granulated sugar, barn wood, and green grape.
Flavor kicks off first with bright flavors of melon, papaya, and grape, all surrounded by oak and tannins. The cabernet comes in as its left to sit on the palate, and the feel invades as it soaks in and dries like a sponge in the mouth. The heat of the 8.5% finishes it off.
Feel is resinous , vinous, and chalky-dry. Just soaks in.
This is an entirely different beer than their standard farmhouse ale. Seek it out if you're in sioux falls.
