I stumbled across this place on google maps. My girlfriend works near Youngstown and had a free hotel for the weekend, so I searched breweries in the area. This place popped up. It had good reviews on BA, so I was in.
We arrived at 5ish on a Saturday afternoon. They are only open Fridays and Saturdays from 4p to close. We pulled in the parking lot and my girlfriend immediately said it looked homey. The exterior was covered in wooden siding giving a log cabin-like appearance.
As we entered the horseshoe bar was to the right with a chalkboard listing of the twelve beers on tap. The bar was full, so we sat at a table. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman who said he was a teacher full time. We ordered a meat, cheese and cracker plate as well as a sampler of some of the beers. The White Out Stout (golden stout) and Warped Wheat (sour wheat) were the standouts for me. I purchased growlers of each.
We eventually made our way to the bar as people left. The mother and father of the brewer spoke to us. All the staff were extremely friendly. It is a family business that started in March. They informed us of other craft beer places to check out as well as the New Castle Fireworks Festival.
I really liked this place. It was intimate, down to earth, very friendly, and good, creative beers. I look forward to see what this brewery accomplishes.

The interior here is very well done. To me, it's easy to see that everything was personally constructed and designed. It very much seems an extension of the Crooked Tongue "family." And on that note, this place seems totally like a local club!
It was 4:30 and there were quite a few people there hanging out. It looked like people knew each other and were genuinely interested in each other's company. Service was good. Cody was there when I first walked in (early) and then his sister took over the reins.
Selection is large. 11 beers on tap and a wide variety in the selection. I took a taster that included 4 4-ounce servings, which was $7.25 if memory serves correct. Most of the beers I had were anywhere from pretty well done to quite good. With so many beers on at once and as a new brewery, I don't think every beer can be a home run. But overall, the brewing is sound.
Food is extremely minimal with only a very few snacks available. You can eat here, sure. But definitely don't count on a full meal.
This is craft beer at its best in the U.S. Small establishments catering to the locals and turning them on to the goodness, if they were not already aware.
Who needs to chase whales when you can chase the product of a passionate brewer's dreams.
