Appearance: Clear dark amber, good head.
Smell: Boozy, bourbon wood, then some caramel sweetness.
Taste: Sweet caramel, then the bourbon comes on strong, booze hit and vanilla. Medium bodied, not super heavy for 10.7%. Finishes with vanilla and booze.
Overall: Had to try this barrel aged imperial marzen from one of my favorite Iowa breweries. It's kind of a boozy mess. It's still drinkable, just the barrel overwhelms the base beer. Sip this instead of your bourbon on the rocks.
