Poured to a BrewDog snifter.
A: Body is coppery and opaque with a beige small head living only to the side of the glass.
S: Aroma is very strong on caramel, molasses, burnt sugar, raisins, something that holds tons of sugar per mg.
T: Taste starts off with a fluffy caramel tone tone that moves to a more bitter as in burnt sugar. The end is highly bitter and sharp due to the amount of sugar in here. It's waaaaay to much.
M: Body is medium with an actually good carbonation even if the head doesn't look like it. The end is sharp on the throat with too much sugar.
O: Too high in sugar concentration. Aside from that, it's a winter beer. Should've had it before Spring.

2017 version, been sitting in my cellar for almost a year and a half.
Pours a clear, deep redddish amber with fine head.
Smell is sweeet and vinous with a smokey streak to it. Notes of sultanas, brown sugar and plums.
Taste is fruity and sweet, with notes of raisins, brown sugar, grapes and some leathery hints. Nice, well rounded bitterness and a long finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, sticky and chewy, well carbonated.
Overall, a barley wine that has aged well. As I remember it fresh, it was quite angular and rough, but age has mellowed it nicely.

Weird barleywine. It is like they took the barley snarl on the finish and replaced it with astringent whiskey. Sure plenty of malt to go with, but feels like a wort that stayed undeveloped for style, with some smokiness. Looked nice with dark amber semi-translucent body.

Served in a goblet glass here at Cervecería Esparte in Conil, Spain.
Appearance: Amber color with medium bubbles to the body with brown tinted orange body coming off semi-translucent but closer to clear with a orange tinted white head rising half a first finger's length.
Smell: Hints of wine and whiskey in one shot.
Taste: Sweet Toffee with hints of alcohol. Malty and smooth.
Mouth: Medium malts with a sticky feel.
Overall: Good brew, not the best barleywine but definitely a keeper. Sticky and all you need. Salud!
