their house pale and one of their more popular beers from what i gather, only finally got around to trying it this weekend. its very good, clean and simple and drinkable, which is what i want from the style more and more as the hazy ones push this sort of thing to the brink of extinction it seems. this couldnt be any more straightforward, just a light pale malt grain base, nothing caramel colored or toasted at all to me, just dry cereal character. the hops are northwestern in nature but well restrained, mild bitterness but not a huge dry hop either, they seem to work to make this crisp in the finish, do not dominate at any point, and are very compatible with the soft grain profile this has. i get some minerality to this, a super tidy ferment overall, almost no residual sugar here at all, but just a trace of some rustic element unifying this. its bright and refreshing in texture, fresh as can be off the tap at the brewery, and the kind of pale i hope makes a comeback, they are right to lean into this one as their top brand, one of the better pales in the boise area to be sure.

RBSG bus tour stop, on tap at the brewery. Medium golden amber, small bubbly head. Grassy, hay aroma with some citrus overtones. Taste too is very grainy, expecting and looking for more hop presence.
