I wonder what the head of expanding this French brewer to São Paulo was thinking. I notice that the chain/franchise/whatever it is stick in Francophone areas, so I was curious why the decision to open shop in a Lusophone area. Craft beer has become a sexy thing in this city, so I suspect that I have answered my own question with that. Having been to a 3 Brasseurs location in Montréal, I was curious to compare.
It looks small and petite at the front door, but walk through and you will wander into a large cavern-like building which seems to go down forever. 3 Brasseur themed bling on the walls, rustic interior, large high tables one after another, and a menu that reads like a newspaper.
I received help quickly, but had yet to decide on a beer. 6 different beer's pouring from tap, including the standard blonde and amber ales, but also a special "chopp" and Itaim pale ale for the area. Both my beers were served with relatively large creamy heads, typical of the Brazilian draft beer, but the quality of the two beers mirrored those of the ones I had in Montréal; mediocre.
Nonetheless, this moment with beer gave me a chance to use the wifi of the house. Fil has messaged me on WhatsApp, reminding me to take it easy this afternoon, there's a big tasting later tonight...
