This is becoming one of my favorite places for beer and food in the city. They brew their own beer, and it's very nice. You can usually find either bottles and draft at the bar.
The bière de garde is incredibly good, and it's a beer you don't usually find around these parts. The food is very good, with a contemporary mix of local ingredients and traditional food. Also, they don't have anything deep-fried, so it's healthier, too.

While some breweries in Brazil are still comfortable doing the holy trio of pilsen/escuro/trigo, Uaimií Brewpub tears up this established method and creates a whole new road for itself. It was a long, interesting walk coming from the Lourdes neighborhood where I was staying, Uaimií is a fresh, comfortable place for less commonly-made styles, but good representations of classic beer styles. With a clean contemporary interior and air conditioning, it feels more like an American brewpub than a Brazilian one.
Eight different taps line up along the back of the "L" shaped bar. One of them pour delicious house water, the other seven pour beer (although one of them had tapped out, but was available from the bottle). Uaimií brews 5 year-round beer, including a dortmunder, American pale ale, dry stout, and the first bière de garde that I have seen brewed in Brazil. In addition, a couple extra seasonals make their mark as well (standard bitter, and a triple-hopped version of said bitter). Not only high marks for originality, but the three beers I had were very good. 300 ml drafts start at R$9.50. Bottles are available too, for drinking here and to go.
Service was very attentive during my visit. And also on top of their game regarding talking beer with me.
The whole Uaimií experience impressed me. This is a place within Belo Horizonte which should absolutely be on the radar for any beer lover in the city.
