Growlette picked up from the brewery.
I don't normally do this but decided to say screw correct glassware and this is reviewed from their mason jar they sell from their brewery.
The appearance was a semi-thick dark brown close to black color with a thick eggshell white foamy head sitting atop and gently dissipated to leave some semi-clingy wisps of lace rolling around the glass.
The aroma perches upon a fairly strong roasted coffee bean quality. Some coffee grounds came in stealthily. Ground dark chocolate nibs tried to round out the edges.
The flavor is super roasty pulling some burnt toast and the coffee grounds tighter into each other. The coffee bean seemed to lose it's strength here. Mild aftertaste of the burnt toast and coffee grounds.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fairly nice sipping quality about it. Carbonation ran under a bit, but not too loose as I found what I was looking for to keep 1st Republic's efforts seem strong enough to tell me this is worthy of coming back to.
