Growlette from the brewer.
This was poured into an English pint glass and a mason jar.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a small off white foamy head gracing the top of the beer. Slow dissipation left some mild lace.
The aroma had a fairly sharp sweet ashy to subtle smoky nipping at some cocoa powder, dark chocolate, dark toast and a touch of milk chocolate.
The flavor yields towards the sweet side slightly then develops a sly crisp semi-toasty and somewhat roasty with a underscore of baked bread. Mild aftertaste of cocoa powder, dark bread and sweet earth.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation and ABV. Fair grip of roastiness along with cocoa powder-like smoothness rolls along my tongue. Mild dry finish of cocoa powder and baked bread.
Overall, pretty nice chocolate porter well worthy of more pours for this time of year.
