An Illinois style IPA that focuses on malt flavors as much as hop flavors and bitterness. Dry with just enough light German caramel and Munich malts to balance the hop bitterness. Huge hop additions late in the kettle boil and during dry hopping create a bouquet of floral, lemon, citrus and exotic fruit aroma. Not a West Coast over-hopped arms race, not a trendy hop showcase, just an honest beer that reflects what we love about IPA's and the Midwesterners who drink them. Goes great with everything except brussels sprouts, because nothing goes great with brussels sprouts.

Canned February 2016; drank 3/8/16 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy dull orange rust appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big off-white head; strong, frothy tree-rung lace.
Caramel, pine & orange citrus notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Dry blood orange flavor up front; burnt caramel & grapefruit notes on the finish.
Oops, you brewed an American barleywine (& not a very good one). Drinkable but nothing more.

16oz can, 4pack holder stamped "IPA DUDE 06/15/18 PKG. Slightly hazed golden colored ale that's capped with a tall foamy ivory head. Juicy & zesty citrus and pine with light caramel for aroma. Bold flavors with plenty of hop and malt characteristics: caramel, bread crust, zesty grapefruit & orange, and a hefty dose of pine. Full and resinous body, balance gives way to a bitter piney finish. Tastes like an old school DIPA but has a very approachable 6.5% ABV. Well done!

Poured from 16-ounce can into a stemmed flute. Translucent, almost opalescent yellow-orange in color, with a one-finger white head that settles into a thin cap. Luscious aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, orange, grapefruit, and pine, with floral overtones and soft caramel malts underneath. Medium mouthfeel, good carbonation, and lots of long-lasting resiny bitterness that is not at all unpleasant. This is exactly what the brewer intended, based on the description. The result is an outstanding beer. Well done!

Draft at the brewery. Hazy saturated orange, drippy lacing, wispy surface skim.
Aroma is fruity on the citrus side of things, orange and grapefruit.
Taste is bittersweet with orange and grapefruit peel notes, light tangerine.
Finishes dry and crisp, light bodied with smooth carbonation. Pretty nice.

Just a hair crisper than your run of the mill centennial or cascade hopped IPA. nothing to write home about. I'd drink it again on draft with a hearty meal if it were the only local handle, but that's about it
