Our version of a German-style Schwarzbier. Dark, malty, and easy to drink. Perfect beer to snuggle up with on a cold winter evening.

Pours a very dark brown or black, with a fluffy, bounteous head which eventually dissipated. Smells of coffee and hops. Tastes malty, roasted, and a tiny bit savory and sour. Soft mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable!

16oz can, no apparent freshness date. Near black body with a tall & foamy khaki head that holds good retention. Nice roasty aroma with chocolate and coffee. Full flavored bier with plenty of roasted barley notes along with dark chocolate, caramel, coffee, char, and earthy hops. Medium body, moderate carbonation, well balanced finish with roast and char lingering a bit; but it's a pretty clean finish. This is spot on for the style - definitely recommendable!

Canned 1/23/20; drank 2/23/20 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dark brown appearance.
A violent pour yielded a big tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Root beer, cream soda, mild caramel & faint fresh earth notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Cream, root beer & fresh earth flavors up front; mild caramel notes on the finish.
Drinkable but substantial; a nice take on the style.
