Deadly Rhythm, by its very name, creates a graceful balance between Pacific Northwest hops and a blend of American and English malts. Floral and fruity hop aromas provide the introduction to the lightly toasted malt backbone of this beer. This American pale ale finishes dry with a smooth but lingering bitterness.

Deadly Rhythm from Pale Fire Brewing. Purchased on 1 Aug 21 from hotel near Dulles. $6.00 per 12 oz bottle ($ 0.50/oz). In reefer at hotel, stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 6/8/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated bottle. Served at 50 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 60.6 degrees.
Appearance – 3.5
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), slight haze.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. When rear-lite, translucent with effervescence.
Head – Large (Maximum five cm, aggressive center pour), ghost white, medium density, good retention, diminishing to a nine to eleven mm crown constantly being replenished by rapid carbonation and a thick partial cap. Small pieces of lacing remain as the head collapses. Second pour produces a two cm cap and sediment from the dry-hopping process is freed from the bottom.
Lacing – Good! Wide irregular band of extremely tiny to small bubbles, thick in some places, with some tiny stalactites and connected to the next band by wide columns. See also above.
Aroma – 3 – Very weak hops, no malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 3.5 – Begins moderately bitter and slightly dry, with resinous flavors and a bit of caramel malt. No yeast. No ethanol (4.8 % ABV, as marked on container) taste. No gastric warming. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, watery, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated container) Overall, a decent pale ale, nicely bitter and resinous. Overpriced but it was purchased in a hotel.

On-tap at Merroir, Topping, VA
A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with just a think ring of white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of grapefruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of grapefruit along with a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and has a lot of grapefruit flavors in it for a pale ale.
Serving type: on-tap

From the bottle, it pours a nice amber color with a large head that is constantly replenished by a stream of bubbles from the bottom and only slowly diminishing as you watch and drink. In the nose, it as a hint of citrus. In the mouth, it is almost pilsner like in it's bite.

Highly carbonated and an almost brut/champagne taste and feel to this beer. A unique APA (not exactly to style?) but not a beer folks should off handedly ignore because its from an unknown brewery. The lower ABV is nice. This is a beach beer! I purchased this bottle as part of a mixed Virginia pack. I need to go get a full six and figure this beer out. 4.0
A - Pours a clear golden with a one-finger off-white head that dissipates quickly. Some minor lacing. 3.75
S - Pilsner like aromas of noble hops, maybe a hint of fruity citrus. 3.75
T - Light malts and crackers., herbal resiny hops, no sweetness what so ever. 3.75
MF - A medium light body with a bone dry bitter finish. 3.75

I am slowly but surely getting rid of all of my Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody. This was a new one that recently arrived at the FGBS & it helped me to fill a mixed six.
From the Bottle: "Strike Anywhere"; "Dry Hopped"; "45 IBU".
I Pop!ped the cap & gave it a slow, gentle C-Line pour only to have it really foam up on me! Oh well, no worries. I am an old hand at this & so I allowed it some calming time. I ended up with two fingers of soapy, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was relatively bitter, definitely hop-forward, with a pine scent leading the way. Mouthfeel was kinda on the thin side, not outright watery, but not much beyond it. The taste was slightly piney, slightly caramel, but it just was not a very good representation of the APA style. If SNPA is the standard-bearer, then this was a pale shadow. Finish was semi-dry to dry, but I just felt unfulfilled. YMMV.

Poured from bottle into pint glass. Poured a deep hazy gold with fluffy white head. Smelled of citrus with a hint of floral and pine. Taste followed nose with a pleasant hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation. A very enjoyable brew.

Pours a hazy, dark orange color with a thick, fluffy white head that slowly fades down, clinging to the glass. Smell is grapefruit, orange, bread malt, and a little pine. Flavor follows, dominated more by the malt and a little earth flavor with the pine and citrus flavors more as an accent. A little on the bitter side for an APA. Medium body. Lingering bitterness. Not a bad little APA, balance is a little off but it's still certainly drinkable.

Yellow-gold in color with decent head and great clingy lacing. Aroma is very light with malt and hops yet seems to be a little off putting and smells a bit like what my cat leaves for me in the litterbox, sorry. Taste is decent with a good balance of hips and malt, pleasant touches of citrus and a fairly light mouth feel and finish.
