Poured a black body with one-finger head and a lace ring around the glass. Aroma is subdued chocolate, almost a bitter chocolate, with hints of spice. Smooth, creamy, light beer that has a bitter chocolate taste with a dry finish yet packs a touch of sweetness. Basic and non-descript chocolate stout with hints of Belgian yeast and spices would be my "cliff notes" summarization of this beer; the beer is enjoyable and worth trying but it's not a Belgian ale with chocolate added as I thought before having it.
