A murder of silhouettes watch a young brewer dig a hole with a spoon. Arrant, our beloved IPA, has been dry hopped with 50% Mosaic and 50% Citra hops.
Danker and denser, while maintaining a tropical nose. He’ll come in when we’re done drinking all this.

A nicely balanced IPA, more like a new school APA, with a softer feel. Missing a bit of bitterness for even a DIPA, but close and tasty nonetheless.

I was excited to see a new DIPA at Pale Fire last time I was in. I asked about it, and the bartender said it was a spin off on Arrant, their delicious Citra IPA. I asked a few more questions, and the bartender admitted that the batch was intended to be Arrant, but the brewers mistakenly added a bunch of Simcoe. Apparently they went with it, changed a couple things up, and rebranded it.

The beer itself is delicious. Orange, mango, underripe stone fruit on the nose. More of the same up front on the taste buds, followed by a tongue-coating bitterness. I think this is a bit creamier than Arrant (maybe some extra oats), but is definitely similar. A touch more bitterness on the finish, but still no trace of alcohol.

I'll be disappointed if this isn't brewed again. PF needs to rotate beers more often, and it's unfortunate that it takes a mistake for them to brew an exciting new beer. Nevertheless, this was very tasty!
