Reviewed from notes dated 10-16-15 while at the brewery.
Amber-brown; dark, thin, wispy head. Sweet, malty aroma. Pumpkin pie flavors and spices; cinnamon; allspice; pumpkin. Medium body.
A very fine, well-balanced beer with a good depth and character with the taste. Sure, many breweries would call this a pumpkin ale (and it fits nicely in this category), but regardless of the style name, what we have here is a very delicious, fully satisfying amber/brown ale. It's very fitting for the harvest season, yet it also would make an excellent year-round offering.
