On tap at Taft's Ale House, served in a snifter.
Appearance: Arrived as a snifter of impenetrable blackness, capped with a foamy brown head. Retention was decent, lacing as well.
Smell: Heady vapors of bourbon well out of the glass, all oak-char-caramel-vanilla, wreathed through with a hefty dose of lactose sweetness.
Taste: Ordinarily, I wax as poetic as my abilities allow for this paragraph. That is not the case with this beer, as brevity will allow an almost perfect description - this drinks as though one has poured a shot or two of bourbon into a glass of chocolate whole milk. I could likely down an entire growler of this in one sitting, and then find myself unable to stand.
Mouthfeel: See above - this is thick and creamy, not unlike drinking a glass of chocolate whole milk with a couple shots of bourbon in it.
Overall: Very different from the base Mooly Wooly, and very tasty. I would definitely drink this one again.
