A unique brew from a growler via Jungle Jim's enjoyed in a snifter.
This interesting take on the brown ale pours a dark brownish amber tinged
cola color with a nice head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin light pool,
and features some spotty soapy lacing. Nose of heavy earthen aromas (candy cap mushrooms),
brown sugars, medium heavy maple aromas, and a touch of mild chocolate and cold pressed coffee.
Flavors follow but exceed by force of presentation with earthen malt notes dunked in mild coffee
notes and heavy (without cloying) maple notes dashed by mild chocolate notes with a sprinkle
of light brown sugar and a nice light herbal hop note. Very nice mouth feel; medium body, medium
lightly spritzy carbonation, and a lightly dry earthy finish.
Overall this is one darn nice brown ale that is complex and interesting to say the least.
Worthy brew from an excellent brewer.
Cheers
