All dressed up and nowhere to go, brewers at Taft's have been stuck inside like the rest of us, but they're staring at buckets of Strata and El Dorado hops and decide to slaughter them. The resulting IPA is fit for extended home consumption.
With a pour of mid-golden orange to light amber, Quentin Quarantino builds a frothy lather that sits atop the rim. A breaming scent of candied fruit, citrus and herb. Light caramelization greets the tongue along with hints of agave, graham cracker and honeysuckle, early on the palate.
Jazzied up with those unique hops, they start to take command of the taste just as the malt influence begins to fade. Trending fruity with pink and red grapefruit, orange, a hint of lime and lemon add a refreshment and racy taste that carries a slight candy coated character. Trending generally bitter but smooth, the IPA's bite seems resinous, spicy, pleasantly grassy and hemp-like.
Medium bodied and bittersweet, the beer's imperial strength has it keeping slightly more malt heft and helping in soothing the bitterness a hiding the gin-like booze. A medium long aftertaste of peppery resins and botanical grasses extends well past the linger of sweetness.
