24 fl oz. 'BIG A$$ CAN', no canned on date present, but I know this beer is fresh. Another new one to me from Mikerphone Brewing, this one a 'Single Hop India Pale Ale Brewed with Ella Hops' not a hop variety I am familiar with, so this should be interesting.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - A very interesting appearance. Very dark and murky. A juicy burnt orange body that appears almost brown at times it is so dark. Less than a finger of soapy thick frothy bubbly white head that dies out. Lots of thin scattered lacing. Looks very nice.
S - A fresh, juicy, fruity aroma. Lots of citrusy fresh squeezed stone fruits: grapefruit, mango, oranges. Very tropical and very fresh.
T - Taste is the same: fruity, juicy, & tropical. Tons of juicy stone fruits - oranges, grapefruit, passionfruit, mango. This thing is like a glass of nectar.
M - Extremely smooth & juicy mouthfeel. This thing is literally like drinking a glass of juice at times. Fruity, with mild bitterness lingering on the palate.
Overall, an excellent use of a unique hop varietal. This thing rivals in taste some of the better Pipeworks DIPA offerings that I have had. An excellent brew from Mikerphone Brewing, and I look forward to many more big a$$ cans.
